Optical spectrometric analyzers
Optical spectrometric analyzers use UV-VIS spectroscopy technology to measure water and liquid quality parameters continuously and in real time – without chemical reagents. By directing a beam of light through a sample and analyzing the absorbed spectrum, these instruments provide accurate measurements of key quality indicators directly in the process or in the field. They are widely used in industrial wastewater monitoring, municipal treatment plants, natural water bodies and process water applications.

How optical spectrometric analysis works
A broadband UV-VIS light source emits radiation through a measuring cell containing a water sample. The detector records the transmitted spectrum and compares it with calibrated reference spectra. Multivariate algorithms extract simultaneous measurements of multiple parameters from a single optical scan – COD, BOD, TOC, nitrate, turbidity, color and spectral absorption coefficient (SAC). Since no reagents or consumables are required, these analyzers provide continuous, low-maintenance operation, ideal for demanding industrial conditions.
