POWERHOUSE – a compact uninterruptible power supply for critical systems
POWERHOUSE – ActivePower compact uninterruptible power supply (UPS) using a kinetic energy storage (flywheel) instead of batteries. The system provides high efficiency, long service life and minimal maintenance costs without battery replacement.
What is a POWERHOUSE UPS system?
POWERHOUSE – ActivePower’s UPS system uses flywheel energy storage technology instead of batteries. The system is compact and extremely efficient – over 97 percent. It responds in less than 1 ms and protects critical equipment from all power outages.
How does the POWERHOUSE system work?
POWERHOUSE uses an integrated motor-generator and a rotating flywheel to store kinetic energy. In the event of a network failure, the system instantly transfers power without any interruption. A response time of less than 1 ms ensures absolute protection against voltage fluctuations and other disturbances.
POWERHOUSE advantages and application areas
The main advantages of POWERHOUSE: no battery maintenance required, efficiency over 97 percent, service life of over 20 years, compact size, low operating costs. Application areas: data centers, semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceutical industry, hospitals, oil and gas sector.
How to choose the right POWERHOUSE configuration?
When choosing a POWERHOUSE, it is important to consider: the protected power from 250 kW to several MW, the duration of the permissible interruption, environmental conditions and integration with existing electrical panels. Systems of different capacities are offered, adaptable to each industrial facility.
POWERHOUSE application areas
POWERHOUSE is widely used in sectors where any interruption means significant losses: data centers and cloud computing, semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, pharmaceutical industry, protection of critical medical equipment, oil and gas industry.
